Honda Marks 15 Millionth Accord Sold in America
A 2026 Accord Sport-L Hybrid bought in Cerritos, Calif., reaches the milestone; the buyer's sister bought the next one the same day.
Honda said Monday it has sold 15 million Accords in America, a milestone the company marked on June 29.
The 15 millionth Accord, a 2026 Accord Sport-L Hybrid, was purchased from Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos, Calif., by Andrea, a 26-year-old insurance agent from Southern California, according to Honda. Her new Accord replaces a 2017 Accord Sport passed down by her father, whose first vehicle purchase, in 1997, was also an Accord.
The same day, at the same dealership, Andrea's younger sister, Alondra, 24, bought a 2026 Accord Sport-L Hybrid, the 15,000,001st Accord sold in America, Honda said.
More than 13 million Accords have been built at Honda's Marysville, Ohio, plant, where U.S. production began in 1982, the company said. The Accord has been in continuous Ohio production for 44 years.
Honda said the Accord has been America's best-selling car over the past 50 years, citing Wards Intelligence. More than 50% of Accord sales over the past three years have been hybrid-electric models, the company said.
Price and other sales details for the milestone purchases were not disclosed.
