Kia Refreshes 2027 Niro Hybrid, With New Styling and a New Trim
The mid-cycle update brings redesigned fascias, an added S trim, a larger dual-screen display and the same 139-horsepower hybrid drivetrain. Kia says it goes on sale this summer.
IRVINE, Calif. - Kia said Wednesday it will refresh the Niro hybrid crossover for the 2027 model year, adding new styling, a new trim and more in-cabin technology while keeping the vehicle's existing hybrid drivetrain. The company said the updated Niro is expected to go on sale this summer.
The Niro, which debuted as a 2017 model, gets redesigned front and rear fascias and Kia's Star Map lighting signatures, according to the company. The 2027 lineup expands to four trims, adding a new S alongside the existing LX, EX and SX models. Kia said it offers the Niro exclusively as a hybrid.
Inside, Kia said the cabin is built around a new panoramic curved display that pairs a standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen with an available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, with a 4-inch digital cluster standard. The company said its next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit is available with over-the-air update capability.
Newly available driver-assistance systems include Highway Drive Assist 2 and Forward Collision Avoidance 2, Kia said.
The Niro continues to pair a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined 139 horsepower through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, according to the company.
Kia said pricing and additional details will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
