Fiat Puts the Topolino on Sale in the U.S. as a $13,995 Low-Speed Electric Microcar
Fiat says the two-seat electric microcar tops out at 19 mph as standard, with a conversion kit to reach 25 mph and street legality due by the end of summer 2026.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Fiat said it has put the Topolino, a low-speed electric vehicle, on sale in the United States, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $13,995 before destination fee.
Limited quantities of the 2026 Topolino and Topolino Dolcevita are available now through select dealers across the U.S., Fiat said. The company did not say how many units it plans to sell or how many dealers will carry the vehicle.
The Topolino uses a 5.4-kWh lithium-ion battery and offers up to 46 miles of range, according to Fiat. A full charge takes about five hours on 2.3 kW AC power, the company said.
As standard, the Topolino has a maximum speed of 19 mph, Fiat said. To increase the top speed to 25 mph and make the vehicle street legal on public roads with speed limits of 35 mph or less, owners must install a Low Speed Vehicle conversion kit, which Fiat said will be available by the end of summer 2026. Fiat describes a Low Speed Vehicle as a federally regulated, street-legal motor vehicle capable of 20 to 25 mph.
Fiat also markets the 500e, a separate battery-electric model with an estimated range of 149 miles, according to the company. </content>
