Hyundai Discontinues the IONIQ 6 Sedan for the IONIQ 6 N, Skips the 2026 Kona Electric
The IONIQ 6 lineup going forward will consist of the all-new IONIQ 6 N, shown at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show and arriving later this year, while 2025 sedans remain at dealers and no 2026 Kona Electric is planned, Hyundai said.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - Hyundai has discontinued the IONIQ 6 sedan and will not offer a 2026 model year Kona Electric, the company said in its 2026 model year changes overview.
Going forward, Hyundai's IONIQ 6 lineup "will consist of the all-new IONIQ 6 N," the company said. Hyundai described the successor as a high-performance electric sport sedan and said it was shown at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show and arrives later this year. The company did not announce pricing, specifications, range or an on-sale date for the model beyond that.
In the meantime, 2025 IONIQ 6 sedans continue to be available at dealers, Hyundai said.
Separately, the company said there will not be a 2026 model year Kona Electric. Hyundai cited adequate stock of the 2025 model year Kona Electric to manage consumer demand for the model at this time.
Hyundai did not provide further detail on either model in the overview.
