Volkswagen Reports 24.9 Percent U.S. Sales Gain in the Second Quarter
Volkswagen of America reported that Tiguan sales grew 152.5 percent and ID. Buzz sales 121.5 percent year over year in the quarter, and that it sold 162,961 vehicles in the first half of 2026, up 2.3 percent, the company said.
RESTON, Va. - Volkswagen of America reported that its U.S. sales rose 24.9 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter a year earlier.
The automaker, which released the figures on July 10, credited the increase to two of its models. Volkswagen reported that Tiguan sales grew 152.5 percent year over year in the quarter and that ID. Buzz sales grew 121.5 percent over the same period.
Through the first half of 2026, Volkswagen said it sold 162,961 vehicles in the United States, a 2.3 percent increase over the first half of 2025. That total is the only vehicle count the company provided; it reported the quarterly and model-level results as percentages.
Volkswagen did not break out unit volumes for the second quarter or for individual models, and its release named no competitors. According to the company, its U.S. lineup is sold through more than 600 independent dealers.
The figures are Volkswagen of America's own reported sales.
