2027 Toyota Corolla Hatchback Moves More Standard Digital Displays Down the Range, Adds SE Premium Package

A trim-and-tech update, not a redesign: the SE gains a standard 7-inch gauge cluster and the XSE larger displays, with the SE starting at $24,780, Toyota said.

PLANO, Texas - Toyota is moving more standard digital displays across the 2027 Corolla Hatchback and adding a new SE Premium Package, a trim-and-tech update to the compact hatchback, the company said July 14.

The SE grade now comes standard with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, Toyota said. The XSE adds a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.5-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system as standard equipment. A new SE Premium Package bundles the 10.5-inch multimedia system with the 12.3-inch cluster, according to Toyota.

Appearance changes include newly available Toyota Genuine accessory 18-inch gloss-white alloy wheels and updated color offerings that add Inked, Blueprint, and Blueprint with Black Roof, the company said.

The powertrain and platform carry over. The Corolla Hatchback uses a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder rated at 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, paired with a standard Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission with a physical launch gear, Toyota said. The company lists manufacturer-estimated fuel economy of 32 mpg city, 41 mpg highway and 35 mpg combined on the SE.

The SE starts at $24,780 and the XSE at $27,875, both excluding a $1,195 Dealer Processing and Handling fee, Toyota said. The 2027 Corolla Hatchback is expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships this summer.

Editorial disclosure: Toyota couriered to Drive Observer a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster lifted from the 2027 Corolla Hatchback, wired to cycle its NORMAL, ECO and SPORT screens on a slow loop when the room goes quiet, mounted on a plinth machined from a gloss-white 18-inch alloy wheel and delivered in a fitted crate with a card inviting the desk to 'pick a mode.'
