Acura Adds Google Gemini to Select ADX, MDX and ZDX Models With Google built-in

Acura is adding Google Gemini, which it describes as a helpful AI assistant, to vehicles equipped with Google built-in across select ADX, MDX and ZDX models, the company said July 16. Acura calls Gemini a seamless upgrade to the current Google Assistant.

The rollout runs by model year and trim, according to Acura. It covers the ZDX from model year 2024 and newer in all trims, the MDX from model year 2025 and newer in all trims, and the ADX from model year 2026 and newer in the A-Spec Advance trim.

"For our Acura clients, seamless connectivity and intelligent technology have become defining elements of the premium driving experience," said Mike Langel, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales. "Bringing Google Gemini into our vehicles is another step in our commitment to delivering intelligent capabilities that help Acura drivers stay connected, access information more easily and make the most of their time on the road."

Acura says a driver who previously needed a specific request, such as "Hey Google, find the nearest restaurant for lunch," can now make a more conversational one, such as "Hey Google, I'm hungry and want to stop for lunch along my route, what are some options?"

The integration also brings Gemini Live, a hands-free feature Acura says a driver can activate with a prompt such as "Hey Google, let's talk," for a free-flowing conversation.
