Hyundai Wins the Road America 120 From Fifth on the Grid, With a Second Car Third

Hyundai Motor America said Aug. 3 that the No. 76 Elantra N TCR of Preston Brown and Denis Dupont started fifth and won the Aug. 1 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Road America, with the No. 33 finishing third.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - Hyundai Motor America said Aug. 3 that the No. 76 Hyundai Elantra N TCR of Preston Brown and Denis Dupont started fifth and won the Road America 120 on Aug. 1, the brand's fourth victory of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.

Hyundai said the No. 33 Hope on Wheels Elantra N TCR of Bryson Morris and Mason Filippi qualified third, led early and finished third, completing the double podium. The No. 18 of Harry Gottsacker and Lance Bergstein qualified seventh and finished fifth, and the No. 98 of Maddie Aust and Mark Wilkins qualified 10th and finished 10th. All four Hyundai entries are run by Bryan Herta Autosport.

The company called the two-hour TCR-class race, at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., rain-soaked, with changing weather and multiple caution periods, and credited the No. 76 with "a perfectly executed race strategy."

Hyundai Hope on Wheels is donating $100 for every lap led by a Hyundai at each race this season, the third straight season it has done so, the company said. Hyundai led 71 laps at Road America, raising $7,100 for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and has raised $72,400 so far in the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season to support pediatric cancer research and treatment programs.

The release lists one future event, the Virginia Is For Racing Lovers Grand Prix, Aug. 21 to 22, at VIRginia International Raceway in Alton, Va.
